Men’s Group

Talking to and ministering to guys about the roles God has called us to as men is a real passion of mine. I have by no means “arrived” at some point of biblical mastery, but I have learned a good bit both from other men and my own mistakes. My desire is to have groups of guys meet together, learn what the Bible says about who we should be and hold each other accountable as we strive toward those goals.

One way I get to do this is by leading a men’s group that meets every other Monday night at the store I manage in Glencoe, AL (map below). This is a community wide meeting, open to all guys (single/married/divorced). The meetings start at 7:00pm and end around 8:30pm (some of us hang around to talk and play cards or games for a while after though). The meetings involve some sort of Bible study either by myself, other men, or a video teaching. We discuss the teaching and how we can apply it to our lives. Then we pray and dismiss.

We usually meet for a 10-12 part series, take a month off and then get right back at it. Even if it is just every two weeks, it’s so important for us as men seeking God to get together and encourage one another on our journey. And we have a great time doing it. I look forward to seeing you there!

For the Winter/Spring 2011 season, we will be going through a video teaching series on the book of Proverbs from Pastor Mark Driscoll of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Washington. This will be a great look at Proverbs with some very practical ways on how to live out these commandments and lead a life of wisdom!
